About XTRA Motorsport
Who We Are
XTRA Motorsport is a motorsport electronics and engineering company based in Kaunas, Lithuania. We are authorized dealers for Bosch Motorsport, AiM Sports, and Emtron — covering ECUs, data loggers, Motorsport ABS systems, power distribution, and sensors.
These are not general off-the-shelf products. Most are high-specification, often made-to-order components that take time to procure and require the right specification from the start.
What we offer alongside the parts is the engineering background to help you choose correctly: which ECU fits your engine management strategy, whether ABS integration is worth the system complexity for your application, and how to specify a complete wiring harness from scratch.
Beyond sourcing parts, we work directly with race teams as engineers and technical consultants — from wiring architecture design to full race weekend support.
The Story
XTRA Motorsport was founded in 2007 by Andrius Kontrimas, though its roots go back to around 2000 when he began competing in hillclimb events with a personal BMW 325 E30.
The first major build was the Audi Xtra Coupe — an Audi Quattro Coupe platform with a 5-cylinder 20v turbo, developed into a wide-body time attack car producing around 800 hp.
The second was the Xtra EVO — a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9 built to 940 whp and 1005 Nm, running a Samsonas sequential gearbox, an Emtron KV8 ECU, and Bosch Motorsport ABS.
Around 2004, Andrius discovered data-driven driving through sim racing and MoTeC i2 analysis — combining an IT background with years of building and racing. He now works as a race engineer in endurance racing including the 24H Series, and has co-driver experience in rally.
That combination — builder, driver, engineer, and analyst — is the technical foundation behind everything XTRA Motorsport does.

Wiring, Connectors & Harness Materials
A complete motorsport build doesn’t stop at the ECU or data logger. We hold stock of the wiring materials and connectors used in professional harness construction:
- Tefzel Wire (ETFE) — the standard for motorsport and aerospace wiring harnesses. We stock 12 to 24 AWG across a full colour range, ready to ship.
- Raychem DR-25 — the industry-standard harness sleeving. Flame-retardant, fluid-resistant, rated to 135°C continuous.
- Raychem Moulded Parts — straight, 90°, T-branch, and Y-branch boots for sealed harness transitions and strain relief.
- Souriau 8STA Connectors — the connector of choice in professional motorsport: lightweight, vibration-rated, and designed for Tefzel-crimped contacts.
- Deutsch Autosport Connectors — sealed rectangular connectors for ECU, PDM, and sensor connections in demanding environments.
Because we engineer harnesses ourselves, we know exactly which gauges, colours, and configurations get used on competition cars. Stock levels reflect that.
