Ecumaster

ECUmaster is a Polish motorsport electronics manufacturer (Modlnica, founded 2009, ISO 9001 certified) producing power management units, motorsport display units, and CAN bus accessories used in circuit racing, rally, drag, and hillclimb applications across Europe and internationally. All hardware is designed and manufactured in-house in Poland.

XTRA Motorsport stocks the ECUmaster PMU, ADU, and CAN accessory range with EU-wide delivery from EU stock. XTRA Motorsport does not stock ECUmaster engine management systems (EMU, EMU Black, EMU Pro). For ECU products, contact ECUmaster directly or one of their ECU-focused resellers.

Power Management Units (PMU)

The ECUmaster PMU replaces conventional fuse boxes and relay panels with solid-state, programmable high-side outputs. Each output has per-channel current monitoring, overcurrent protection, and PWM capability — allowing fans and pumps to run at variable speed under software control. A built-in logic engine with 100 configurable functions handles conditional switching, timed sequences, and closed-loop PID control over open CAN2.0B, compatible with any ECU brand.

All PMU units include a built-in 3D accelerometer and gyroscope (inertia-triggered power shutoff for crash scenarios), dedicated wiper output with braking logic, monitored 5V sensor supply, and support for up to two CAN keypads simultaneously.

The PMU-16 is the standard choice for most builds. The PMU-16DL adds 256MB of internal data logging. The PMU-16 AS is the professional variant with IP65 Autosport connectors and Radlok 200A tool-free battery disconnect — used where maximum environmental sealing is required, such as off-road rally-raid (Dakar, Baja), boat racing, or any application where the connector area is exposed to water, mud, and dust. The PMU-24DL expands to 24 outputs for complex cars where 16 circuits are not sufficient.

Advanced Display Units (ADU)

The ECUmaster ADU range provides configurable motorsport dash displays with 500Hz USB data logging, 15 RGB shift LEDs, dual CAN2.0B, RS232, OBD2, and a built-in 3D accelerometer and gyroscope. Over 20 ECU brands are supported out of the box via pre-built CAN profiles — no ECUmaster ECU required.

Choose the ADU-5 for tight cockpits, co-driver stations, or weight-critical builds. Choose the ADU-7 Rev2 for maximum screen area and 1000 cd/m² brightness for direct sunlight readability. Choose the ADU-7 Autosport where the harness uses round Autosport connectors throughout.

CAN Accessories

The GPS CAN V2 and CAN Switch Board V3 extend the ECUmaster ecosystem with GNSS data and additional CAN I/O, and are compatible with any CAN-capable ECU, PMU, or datalogger — not only ECUmaster hardware.

GPS CAN V2 — 25Hz multi-constellation GNSS module (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou) with 200Hz IMU (3-axis accelerometer + gyroscope), 2m position accuracy, 0.3° heading accuracy, and IP65 CNC aluminium enclosure. Deutsch DT connector, external active antenna with magnetic base included. Streams lap timing, track position, speed, heading, and vehicle dynamics data over CAN bus. Used with ECUmaster ADU for real-time predictive lap timing and track map generation.

CAN Switch Board V3 — Compact 25×25mm PCB for building custom steering wheel panels and button boxes. Reads 8 switch inputs and 8 analogue inputs (0–5V, for rotary switches and potentiometers), drives 4 low-side outputs at 0.5A for indicator LEDs, and transmits all data over CAN2.0B on 4 wires. Multiple boards can share one CAN bus with configurable message IDs. Bare PCB — requires a sealed enclosure.

Configuration and Analysis Software

All ECUmaster devices are configured in the free Light Client software (Windows) via a USB to CAN interface (ECUmaster, Kvaser, or PEAK PCAN). Post-session data from ADU USB logging is analysed in Data Master — free, actively maintained (version 2026.1), with track mapping, video sync, and automated report generation. Does XTRA Motorsport stock ECUmaster ECUs or EMU engine management systems?

No. XTRA Motorsport stocks ECUmaster power management units (PMU), display units (ADU), the GPS CAN V2, and the CAN Switch Board V3. Which ECUmaster PMU should I choose?

The PMU-16 is the standard choice for most builds — 16 solid-state outputs covering fans, pumps, lights, shift solenoids, and ECU power circuits. Add the PMU-16DL for 256MB internal data logging without an external logger. Choose the PMU-16 AS for maximum IP65 sealing with Autosport connectors and Radlok battery disconnect — the right choice where the PDM is exposed to water, mud, and dust, such as Dakar or Baja rally-raid builds and boat racing applications. Choose the PMU-24DL when your car requires more than 16 switched circuits.

Is the ECUmaster PMU compatible with my ECU brand?

Yes. The PMU communicates over open CAN2.0B (125/250/500/1000 kbps) and accepts up to 100 user-defined CAN input messages with configurable bit masking. It works with Emtron, Bosch Motorsport, MoTeC M1, Haltech, Link ECU, AiM, Syvecs, and any engine management system that outputs CAN data. It is not locked to ECUmaster ECUs.

Does the ECUmaster ADU need to be paired with an ECUmaster ECU?

No. The ADU ships with pre-built CAN configuration files for over 20 ECU brands — including Emtron, MoTeC M400/M600, Haltech, AEM, Link ECU G4X, Megasquirt, and others. RS232 serial support covers AiM, Hondata K-Pro, Autronic SM4, and others. OBD2 is supported via the CAN2 port. Custom CAN profiles for unlisted ECUs are available from ECUmaster on request.

What is the ECUmaster GPS CAN V2 used for?

The GPS CAN V2 is a 25Hz GNSS module that streams position, speed, heading, and 200Hz IMU data over CAN bus. When paired with an ECUmaster ADU, it enables real-time predictive lap timing and track map generation in ECUmaster ADU PC software. It is configured separately via USB to CAN and is compatible with any CAN-capable logger or display, not only ECUmaster products.

XTRA Motorsport ships across the EU via DHL/UPS. Most ECUmaster items are 3-day special order with delivery typically within 7–10 working days. All products carry the manufacturer’s warranty.
