The Ecumaster GPS CAN V2 is a motorsport GPS module that combines a 25Hz multi-constellation GNSS receiver with a 200Hz IMU (3-axis accelerometer and gyroscope) in an IP65-sealed CNC aluminium enclosure. All position, speed, heading, and inertial data is output over CAN bus at configurable message IDs, feeding any connected ADU display, datalogger, or ECU that can receive custom CAN frames.
The V2 replaces the earlier V1 (part number 03Z2MO0019) with a native 25Hz GPS fix rate (up from 20Hz), fourth GNSS constellation support (BeiDou added to GPS/GLONASS/Galileo), 200Hz IMU data rate (up from 100Hz), and elimination of the IMU fusion calibration requirement — the V2 works correctly on bikes, rally cars, and any vehicle with non-flat attitude without needing a calibration run.
An external active GPS antenna with magnetic base is included. The module connects via a 4-pin Deutsch DT connector.

What You Can Do With It
- Display live lap timing on an ADU — 25Hz position fixes feed the ECUmaster ADU’s lap timing function in real time, with predictive lap delta visible on-screen during the lap
- Build precise track maps — GPS breadcrumbs at 25Hz in ADU Analyzer software produce accurate circuit maps; useful for comparing driver lines between sessions
- Add a GPS speed channel — cross-check or supplement wheel speed sensors with GPS-derived speed, particularly valuable during wheelspin or ABS events
- Capture 200Hz vehicle dynamics data — the IMU’s accelerometer and gyroscope channels log at 200Hz, providing yaw rate, pitch, roll, and G-force data independent of the ADU’s own internal IMU
- Use on motorcycles and rally cars — no IMU fusion dependency means the module works correctly regardless of vehicle pitch and roll attitude

FAQ
What GPS update rate do I need for lap timing?
25Hz (the GPS CAN V2 rate) is sufficient for circuit, rally, and hillclimb lap timing. At 25Hz, position fixes arrive every 40ms — approximately 1 metre of position resolution at 90 km/h. The 25Hz rate is an improvement over the V1 at 20Hz and is the current standard for motorsport GPS modules at this price point.
Is BeiDou supported?
Yes. The GPS CAN V2 tracks all four major GNSS constellations simultaneously: GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou. More visible satellites improve position fix reliability in cuttings, stadium-type venues, and under adverse sky conditions.
Does the GPS CAN V2 need calibration?
No. Unlike the V1, the V2 does not use IMU fusion for its GPS position and requires no calibration run after mounting. The 200Hz IMU data is available as separate CAN channels and can be used independently. This makes the V2 suitable for motorcycles, rally cars, and hillclimb vehicles where the V1’s fusion algorithm was problematic.
Which ECUmaster displays and loggers is it compatible with?
The GPS CAN V2 is primarily designed for ECUmaster ADU displays (ADU-5, ADU-7 Rev2, ADU-7 Autosport), which include built-in lap timing, track mapping, and predictive timing functions. Because data is transmitted over open CAN bus with configurable message IDs, it is also compatible with any CAN-capable logger or ECU that can parse custom CAN frames.
Does it come with an antenna?
Yes — an external active GPS antenna with magnetic base is included in the package with a 4-pin Deutsch DT connector and vibration isolating mounts. The antenna requires an unobstructed view of the sky — mount on a metal roof, bonnet, or tail section for best satellite acquisition.
