Suitable Applications
- Intercooler charge air pipes (sharp-bend routing)
- Turbocharger compressor outlet to intercooler connection
- Radiator coolant inlet/outlet hoses
- Heater circuit hoses
- BOV / blow-off valve inlet hose (25 mm)
Not Suitable For
Do not use in fuel delivery, fuel return, or oil lines. Silicone is not resistant to hydrocarbons. For fuel or oil lines, use PTFE-lined hose.
When to Use a 90° Elbow
Use a 90° elbow where two pipes are perpendicular and there is insufficient space to route a curved straight hose. The 90° elbow provides a tight-radius corner in one moulded piece, which is cleaner and more secure than bending a straight hose.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the leg length of this elbow?
Legs are approximately 80–100 mm from the centreline of the bend to the cut end, depending on diameter. Measure the available straight run on both sides before ordering.
Is there a black version?
Yes — see SFS Performance Silicone 90° Elbow Black. Identical construction and temperature rating; available in 35 and 41 mm ID.
Is the 80 mm ID suitable for large intercooler pipes?
Yes. The 80 mm ID suits intercooler charge air pipes on high-power turbocharged engines, typically those using large front-mount intercoolers.
Is the 25 mm ID suitable for a BOV inlet port?
Yes, for most standard blow-off valves. Measure the inlet port diameter on your specific BOV to confirm before ordering.
What clamp should I use?
Worm-drive (jubilee) or T-bolt clamp positioned 10–15 mm from the end of the hose. T-bolt clamps are recommended for charge air applications.
