Raychem HFT5000 20/10 mm is a heat-shrinkable woven fabric tubing from TE Connectivity for abrasion protection on main harness trunks and large-diameter loom sections. The 20/10 mm size slides over bundles up to 20 mm OD before recovery and grips down to a 10 mm minimum ID — suited for engine bay main looms, large gearbox harness sections, and any run where DR-25 jacketed trunks need additional mechanical protection.
The weave combines polyethylene (PE) for shrink force and polyester (PET) for abrasion resistance. Recovery temperature is 80°C minimum — safe to apply over finished DR-25 jacketed wiring without heat damage to the loom underneath.
HFT5000 is not a sealing product. The woven construction is porous and does not seal against fluids. For fluid-exposed routing, use Raychem DR-25 as the primary sealed jacket underneath and HFT5000 over the top for abrasion protection.

Typical motorsport applications
| Application | Notes |
|---|---|
| Main engine bay loom trunks (bundles 12–19 mm OD) | Over DR-25 jacketed main run for combined sealing and abrasion |
| Gearbox section main loom | High-abrasion zone — apply over DR-25 12/6 mm jacketed trunk |
| Floor and underbody main harness runs | Gravel, stone chip, and chassis abrasion protection |
| Any DR-25 jacketed trunk in a mechanical wear zone | Layered system: DR-25 seals, HFT5000 protects |
Application
Recover at 80°C minimum; 140–190°C recommended for complete and even recovery on large diameters. Use a wide-aperture reflector nozzle on the heat gun to distribute heat evenly around the circumference. Move continuously to prevent local overheating.
HFT5000 shrinks approximately 10% in length during recovery. Pre-cut sections longer than the finished run.
Per metre: Each metre is one continuous cut length, hand-wound loose — not separate pieces.
Other sizes
- HFT5000 6/3 mm — for sensor pigtails and small branches up to 6 mm OD
