Not Suitable For
Do not use in fuel delivery, fuel return, or oil lines. Silicone is not resistant to hydrocarbons. For fuel or oil lines, use PTFE-lined hose.
Black vs Blue
Technical performance, temperature rating, and pressure resistance are identical between black and blue. Black is the standard choice in high-heat areas of the engine bay where blue would show heat staining, or where a more discreet appearance is preferred.
How to Select the Correct Diameter
Measure the outside diameter of the pipe spigot or barb. This measurement is the internal diameter you need. Silicone stretches slightly — a hose up to 3 mm smaller in ID will seat correctly on a barb when clamped.
Frequently Asked Questions
What clamps should I use with this hose?
Worm-drive (jubilee) or T-bolt hose clamps. T-bolt clamps are preferred for charge air systems. Position the clamp 10–15 mm from the end of the hose.
Is this hose suitable for large-diameter intercooler pipes (76 mm, 102 mm)?
Yes. The 3-ply construction handles charge air pressures up to approximately 2.5 bar. Ensure both ends are clamped securely with the correct size clamp.
Can I paint or wrap the outside of the hose?
Silicone does not accept paint permanently. Heat wrap (such as Thermotec or DEI) can be applied to protect the hose from external heat sources near the exhaust or turbocharger.
