The Bosch Motorsport DBW 60mm electronic throttle body provides drive-by-wire throttle control for engines where the ECU replaces the mechanical throttle cable. A DC motor drives the throttle plate; the ECU controls the motor via a PWM signal on the two motor pins (M+ and M−) and reads the actual throttle position from two independent potentiometers (IP1 and IP2) on a shared 5 V supply.
The dual-potentiometer design provides TPS redundancy — both sensors measure the same physical angle and the ECU cross-checks their outputs to detect sensor failure or out-of-range conditions. If one TPS signal falls outside the expected window relative to the other, the ECU defaults to a safe operating mode or limp state, preventing an uncontrolled wide-open throttle condition. This is a regulatory requirement in most racing series where drive-by-wire is permitted.
Flex-fuel, CNG, and LPG applications are compatible provided the alternative fuel is injected downstream of the throttle body in the air flow path — the throttle body itself sees only air, not fuel vapour.
The 60 mm bore suits engines up to approximately 3–4 L displacement on naturally aspirated applications; suitable for higher-displacement turbocharged engines where manifold pressure management reduces mass flow through the throttle.

ETC System Overview
A complete electronic throttle control (ETC) system requires three components:
1. This throttle body (actuator + position feedback)
2. An accelerator pedal position sensor (driver demand input)
3. An ETC-capable ECU (closed-loop control of motor to match pedal demand)
The Bosch Motorsport MS 6.2 EVO and MS 6.4 EVO ECUs include 2 × dedicated ETC H-bridge outputs specifically for this throttle body.
