The Bosch Motorsport DBW 82mm electronic throttle body provides drive-by-wire throttle control for large-displacement gasoline engines. An 89 mm spigot OD flange with a 75×75 mm bolt pattern and M6×45 mm cap screws provides secure mounting to custom inlet manifolds. A DC motor drives the throttle plate; two inverse-tracking potentiometers (TPS1: 0→5 V fully closed to open; TPS2: 5→0 V closed to open) provide redundant position feedback to the ECU.
The dual-potentiometer design enables TPS fault detection: the ECU cross-checks TPS1 and TPS2 signals continuously, and any discrepancy beyond the allowed window flags a throttle position fault. A return spring closes the throttle plate if power is lost — the fail-safe condition required by all motorsport regulations where drive-by-wire is permitted.
Flex-fuel (E85), CNG, and LPG compatibility is permitted where the alternative fuel is injected downstream of the throttle body in the air path — the throttle body itself handles only air. The 82 mm bore suits engines up to approximately 6.0 L naturally aspirated, and boosted applications where manifold pressure management restricts mass flow through the throttle.
A 6-pin mating connector kit (D261.205.358-01) is the correct harness connector for this throttle body.

ETC System Overview
A complete electronic throttle control (ETC) system requires:
1. This throttle body (actuator + dual position feedback)
2. An accelerator pedal position sensor (driver demand input to ECU)
3. An ETC-capable ECU (closed-loop DC motor control matching pedal to throttle position)
The Bosch Motorsport MS 6.2 EVO and MS 6.4 EVO include 2 × dedicated 8.5 A H-bridge outputs for electronic throttle control.
