ECU Mating Connector Kits — Reference and Order Guide
This category covers mating connector kits for motorsport ECUs, PDMs, and power distribution units stocked by XTRA Motorsport. Each kit contains the housings, contacts, and seals required to build a harness to that specific device. Use the compatibility tables below to identify the correct kit before ordering.
XTRA stocks connector kits for Bosch Motorsport MS6 ECU and PBX90 PowerBox, Emtron KV and SL series, Link ECU G4X and G5 wire-in range, and MoTeC PDM and older ECU range. Individual contacts (socket and pin), sealing plugs, and aluminium boot backshells for AMP Superseal connectors are also available for custom loom builds and repairs.
Both MS6 connectors are required to build a complete ECU harness — 196 pins total across X1 and X2. Bosch MS6, PBX90, and HPI5 connectors are proprietary Bosch housings; they are not AMP Superseal and not Deutsch Autosport.
M142 and M150 use four Superseal connectors (2 × 34-pin, 2 × 26-pin) — the PDM kit alone is not sufficient for these models. M170, M182, and M190 use Deutsch Autosport AS-series connectors, not Superseal. M1 series uses Ethernet — no UTC connector is required.
Reference: Other ECUs Using AMP Superseal 1.0
Many motorsport ECU brands use AMP Superseal 1.0 for which XTRA does not currently stock complete connector kits. For these ECUs, individual contacts, sealing plugs, and aluminium boot backshells from XTRA are compatible — the Superseal contact and housing dimensions are standardised across all manufacturers using this family.

ECUmaster EMU Black: despite a visually similar connector appearance, the EMU Black uses FCI Sicma / Apex connectors — these are not compatible with AMP Superseal 1.0. Do not use Superseal contacts or housings for the ECUmaster EMU Black.

Adding Heat Shrink Boots to AMP Superseal Connectors
The standard Superseal housing has no backshell neck, so heat shrink moulded boots cannot grip directly onto the connector body. The aluminium backshell adaptors (M79132 for 26-way, M79133 for 34-way) push-fit onto the connector housing and add a grooved lip for the boot to lock against — the same method used on mil-spec circular connectors.
Installation sequence: thread the boot onto the loom first, before terminating any contacts. A moulded boot cannot be fitted over a terminated connector once pins are in place.
FAQ
Do I need both the 91-pin and 105-pin kits for the Bosch Motorsport MS6?
Yes. The MS6 uses two separate proprietary connectors: X1 (91-pin, F02U.B00.711-01) and X2 (105-pin, F02U.B00.712-01). Both are required to build a complete harness — they are not interchangeable and are ordered separately. Total pin count across both connectors is 196.
Does the Emtron KV16M use the same connector kit as the KV8 and KV12?
No. The KV8, KV12, and KV16 all use AMP Superseal 1.0 connectors — the KV8ABCD kit covers all three. The KV16M uses Deutsch Autosport connectors with a different housing and contact system. The KV8ABCD kit is not compatible with the KV16M.
Are AMP Superseal contacts interchangeable between Link ECU, Emtron, and MoTeC connectors?
Yes. AMP Superseal 1.0 is a standardised connector family — the same contacts and sealing plugs work across all ECU brands using this system, including Link ECU, Emtron KV/SL, MoTeC PDM, Haltech Elite, and others. Individual contacts (SS20AWG, SS16AWG) and SS-PLUG sealing inserts from XTRA are compatible with any Superseal 1.0 housing.
What crimp tooling do I need for AMP Superseal contacts?
AMP Superseal 1.0 contacts crimp with TE Connectivity hand crimp tool 91559-1 or equivalent ratchet crimp tools accepting the correct positioner for size 1.0 contacts. Die set selection depends on wire gauge. Consult the TE Connectivity Superseal 1.0 crimp application specification for verified tooling combinations.
How do I add a heat shrink boot to an AMP Superseal ECU connector?
Fit an aluminium backshell adaptor first — M79132 for 26-pin connectors, M79133 for 34-pin connectors. These push onto the connector housing and add a grooved neck. Thread the moulded boot onto the loom before crimping any contacts. Once all contacts are inserted and the connector assembled, slide the boot over the backshell and recover with a heat gun. Raychem 202K/222K series and compatible HellermannTyton boots are available for both adaptor sizes.
Can I use Superseal contacts for the ECUmaster EMU Black?
No. The ECUmaster EMU Black uses FCI Sicma / Apex connectors, which are visually similar to Superseal but are not compatible. Superseal contacts, seals, and housings will not fit the EMU Black’s housing correctly. Check your ECU’s specific connector family before ordering contacts.
