The AiM Solo 2 DL is a self-contained GPS lap timer and ECU data logger. A 25 Hz 4-constellation GPS receiver (GPS/GLONASS/BeiDou/Galileo) provides position accuracy under 0.5 m and lap time resolution to 1/100 second. The 100 Hz 6-axis inertial platform — 3-axis ±5G accelerometer, 3-axis gyroscope, and 3-axis magnetometer — logs lateral, longitudinal, and vertical G-forces without additional hardware.
The Solo 2 DL connects to any ECU or OBD system via CAN, RS232, K-Line, or coil signal to record engine channels alongside GPS and IMU data. Logged sessions download via Wi-Fi to Race Studio 3 for analysis. The 4 GB internal memory holds multiple sessions without offloading. With a 4,000+ circuit database stored onboard, the Solo 2 DL recognises the track automatically on arrival and begins timing without manual configuration.
A built-in rechargeable lithium battery provides up to 4 hours of use with backlight or 6 hours without — sufficient for a full track day. The magnetic mount allows repositioning between vehicles in seconds. For permanent installation, external 12 V vehicle power extends runtime indefinitely. IP67 sealing allows use in open vehicles in all weather conditions.

FAQ
Does the Solo 2 DL work without an ECU connection?
Yes. The Solo 2 DL operates as a standalone GPS lap timer without any ECU connection. It records GPS position, speed, lap times, sector times, and IMU data independently. ECU connection via CAN, RS232, or K-Line adds engine channels (RPM, throttle, water temperature, etc.) to the logged data for analysis in Race Studio 3.
What is the difference between the Solo 2 and the Solo 2 DL?
The Solo 2 DL adds CAN, RS232, and K-Line ECU connectivity and an external power cable input. The base Solo 2 is GPS-only with no ECU connection. For any application where ECU data logging alongside GPS timing is required, the Solo 2 DL is the correct choice.
How accurate is the GPS lap timing?
The Solo 2 DL uses a 25 Hz receiver with 4-constellation positioning (GPS/GLONASS/BeiDou/Galileo) providing under 0.5 m position accuracy. Lap time resolution is 1/100 second. This is the same GPS performance as the AiM MX dash logger family and is accepted in most club racing series where transponder timing is not mandatory.
Does the suction cup kit come included?
No. The suction cup kit is sold separately. The Solo 2 DL includes a magnetic bracket as standard. The suction cup allows windscreen mounting on vehicles without a metallic dash surface.
