The Bosch Motorsport damping plate (1271.032.390-U5G) is a two-plate vibration isolation mount for the MM5.10 IMU. High-frequency chassis vibrations — engine firing pulses, gearbox noise, kerb strikes, and differential chatter — can saturate or corrupt the MEMS elements inside the MM5.10, introducing noise into ABS, traction control, active suspension, and data logging channels.
The urethane isolation pads between the two plates act as a mechanical low-pass filter, attenuating high-frequency content before it reaches the IMU. The two-stage mounting design — 2×M8 bungs to the chassis, 2× threaded bungs for the MM5.10 — ensures the isolation path is not short-circuited by rigid hardware connections.
Use the damping plate whenever the MM5.10 is mounted in a high-vibration location: firewall, floor tunnel, or any structural panel in close proximity to the engine or driveline.
