AiM MyChron6 is the karting data logger from AiM Tech. It records lap times using integrated 25Hz GPS and 6-axis IMU, and logs engine data from the included temperature sensor. Data is downloaded wirelessly via WiFi or Bluetooth to Race Studio 3 software for analysis.
The MyChron6 has one temperature sensor input. Select the version that matches your engine type and kart setup. If you need two simultaneous temperature channels, AiM also offers the MyChron6 Dual (not listed here — contact us for availability).

Sensor Configurations
Each MyChron6 is supplied with one temperature sensor. The patch cable (included in most versions) connects the sensor to the logger.

About the Sensors
Water Temperature — M10
The water temperature sensor uses an M10 thread and measures engine coolant temperature. The M10 fitting is standard on most water-cooled kart engines (IAME X30, ROK GP, KZ, etc.). Water temperature is the primary thermal channel for monitoring engine condition during sessions.
Cylinder Head Temperature — CHT
The CHT sensor is a K-type thermocouple that measures temperature directly at the cylinder head. It is used on air-cooled 2-stroke engines (Rotax Max series, Vortex, TM, etc.) where there is no coolant circuit. CHT is the main thermal reference on air-cooled engines and is sensitive to jetting, mixture, and carburetion settings.
The CHT + Patch cable version includes a short extension cable for easier installation when the logger is not close to the engine.
Exhaust Gas Temperature — EGT
The EGT sensor measures the temperature of exhaust gases directly in the exhaust system. EGT is a sensitive indicator of engine mixture and power output — it responds quickly to jetting changes, needle position, and throttle use. EGT is used in both 2-stroke and 4-stroke karting applications.
EGT T12: The T12 thread fitting is common on European karting exhaust systems and manifolds.
EGT M5: The M5 thread is used on some 4-stroke applications and alternative exhaust fittings.
AiM Race Studio 3
AiM MyChron6 works with Race Studio 3 analysis software, available free of charge from AiM Tech. Race Studio 3 runs on Windows and Mac and allows review of GPS track map, lap comparison, channel graphs, and session summary. Data is transferred from the MyChron6 to the computer via WiFi or Bluetooth — no cable required.
