The CANJST4 cable adds CAN communications and power to Link G4X and G5 plug-in ECUs fitted with the newer 4-pin powered CAN connector on the PCB (not the older 5-pin CAN socket). It plugs directly into the socket on the ECU board and provides the CAN bus plus a protected 12 V supply and ground on a DTM4 male connector — so low-power CAN accessories can be connected without any extra wiring into the vehicle harness.
The 12 V supply is protected by a self-resetting fuse rated at 3 A continuous. That is sufficient for a LinkECU CAN Lambda Controller, a dash display, an EGT amplifier, or similar low-powered CAN devices with a combined continuous draw under 3 A.
Plug-in ECUs with the old 5-pin CAN socket use the CANJST cable (101-0197) instead — the two cables are not interchangeable. The 4-pin powered CAN port also cannot use the old CANPCB cable.
