The EVOLink (EVO8X) is Link Engine Management’s G4X plug-in ECU for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV through VIII with the 4G63 engine, specifically models with the 4-connector ECU header. Onboard MAP sensor (4-bar or 7-bar depending on board revision) is included. The PCB fits inside the factory ECU enclosure with no loom modifications.
Critical fitment note: The Evo VIII came in two variants — 4-plug and 3-plug ECU. The EVO8X (203-4000) is for 4-plug models only. Evo VIII with a 3-plug ECU, and all Evo IX models, require the EVOLink EVO9X (SKU 204-4000).

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my Evo VIII needs the EVO8X or EVO9X?
Count the connector plugs on the factory ECU: 4 plugs = EVO8X (SKU 203-4000); 3 plugs = EVO9X (SKU 204-4000). Evo IV–VII always use the 4-plug header.
Does the EVOLink EVO8X support MIVEC?
No MIVEC is fitted on Evo IV–VIII engines. MIVEC (intake variable cam timing) was introduced on the Evo IX, which uses the EVO9X (204-4000).
Is a base map included?
Yes. A startup base map for the 4G63 is pre-loaded. Professional dyno tuning is required before use.
