Bosch Motorsport ABS M5 Kit 1 is the full-specification version of the ABS M5 range for GT3, GT4, hypercar, and OEM race car manufacturing programmes. It uses the same hydraulic unit and ECU as the Clubsport but adds a custom motorsport-specification wiring harness and unlocks advanced wheel slip control algorithms that are not available in the Clubsport variant.
The Kit 1 wiring harness is built to motorsport specification: Raychem DR-25 heat-resistant sleeving throughout, fully sealed connectors, and flexible CAN terminals for custom vehicle integrations. Crucially, the harness is made specifically for each customer — after order, XTRA Motorsport’s engineers agree a vehicle-specific harness drawing with the customer before manufacturing begins. The loom is produced to that drawing, ensuring the harness routes, connector positions, and branch lengths match the actual installation. This makes the Kit 1 a manufactured-car solution rather than a universal-fit conversion.

Advanced Control Algorithms
The Kit 1 advanced algorithms are activated and programmed by Bosch Motorsport engineers (available at additional cost). They are designed for cars where aerodynamic load, lateral cornering forces, or complex CAN integration require slip target adjustment beyond the preset switch maps.
Downforce-dependent slip — adjusts the wheel slip target based on aerodynamic downforce level. As downforce increases at high speed, the ABS tightens the slip window, preserving maximum braking force where grip is highest.
Lateral deceleration slip — modifies wheel slip thresholds during high lateral g loading. Under combined braking and cornering, this prevents the ABS from locking a wheel that is already at its lateral grip limit.
Corner inside wheel slip reduction — reduces the locking tendency of the inside wheel under braking in corners. The inside rear wheel carries less load in a corner and reaches its slip limit earlier; this algorithm adjusts intervention on that wheel individually.
ABS-Off on position 1 — position 1 of the 12-position switch can be configured as a full ABS disable, giving drivers and engineers access to no-ABS baseline runs without reprogramming.
ABS map selection via CAN — ABS maps can be selected via a CAN signal in addition to the physical switch, allowing map selection to be integrated into the car’s driver controls or balance-of-car system.
Flexible CAN terminals — CAN wiring is configurable at the harness connector, supporting custom vehicle CAN bus integrations for OEM builds.

RaceABS Software and Configuration
Vehicle parameters are set using RaceABS software, available free of charge from Bosch Motorsport. The Bosch Motorsport MSA-BOX II USB interface is required for connection between laptop and ABS unit (sold separately).

- Wheel weights and wheel circumference
- Wheelbase
- Wheel speed sensor increment count
- ABS map assignment per switch position (Kit 1)
After every order, XTRA Motorsport engineers contact the customer to confirm wheel speed sensor signal type, CAN bus speed, and vehicle-specific installation requirements — and to agree the harness drawing before manufacturing the Kit 1 loom. Production of the custom harness begins only once the drawing is approved by the customer.
