The Bosch Motorsport PBX90 PowerBox is a programmable power distribution module that eliminates conventional fuses, relays, and circuit breakers from the race car electrical architecture, replacing them with 36 solid-state high-side output channels managed by the Bosch PBX software platform. Each output provides individual current monitoring, overcurrent protection, and diagnostic feedback — every circuit’s state is visible in RaceCon and WinDarab V7 in real time.
The 36-channel output complement covers all vehicle power requirements: four 40 A channels (parallelable to 80 A for high-current loads), four 25 A channels, 22 × 15 A standard channels, and six multi-purpose outputs that can be configured as low-side, high-side, push-pull, or PWM mode — two of which can be combined to form an H-bridge for bidirectional motor control.
Twelve 16-bit analog inputs with switchable pull-up resistors allow direct sensor connection for load-side sensing or auxiliary chassis inputs without a separate acquisition module. Four digital inputs with switchable pull-up/pull-down handle switch, button, and frequency inputs.
The three CAN channels, two Ethernet ports, and LIN interface connect the PBX90 to the Bosch Motorsport ECU, DDU, and data logger. Bosch Motorsport LIN-bus devices (wiper motors, servos) are supported directly. PBX90 configuration uses the Bosch PBX Suite software, available at no charge.
For applications requiring 48 V capability or more than 36 outputs, the PBX 190 provides 52 outputs with 4 × 48 V channels.
