The Bosch Motorsport MS25 SPORT is the only dedicated diesel engine control unit in the Bosch Motorsport range. It controls common-rail diesel engines with solenoid valve injectors on up to 8 cylinders, operates in both 12 V and 24 V vehicle electrical systems, and is rated to IPx6K and IPx9K — full resistance to high-pressure water jets and full submersion. These ratings, combined with engine-mountable installation with 8 fixing points and a liquid-cooled base plate, make it suitable for engine-bay mounting on diesel racing vehicles where thermal management and water ingress are primary concerns.

The MS25 SPORT manages two independent hydraulic bank configurations: a primary FMU (Fuel Metering Unit) and PCV (Pressure Control Valve), with an optional second FMU/PCV bank for V8 or dual-rail diesel systems. Eight solenoid injection output stages drive up to 8 injectors across three injection groups. A built-in lambda interface accepts one Bosch LSU 4.9 wideband sensor, and 12 additional low-side power stages cover ancillary control: EGR valves, variable geometry turbo actuators, cooling solenoids, and exhaust aftertreatment components.

Calibration uses the MATLAB/Simulink-based development environment combined with Modas Sport and the MSA-Box II interface. Three separate CAN channels — labelled Dash, Application, and Customer — separate display data from ECU data from customer-defined data on dedicated buses. J1939 protocol support is optional, enabling compatibility with standard heavy-vehicle diagnostic and telemetry infrastructure in diesel truck racing.

What injection system does the MS25 SPORT support?

The MS25 SPORT is designed for common-rail diesel engines with solenoid valve injectors. It is not compatible with piezoelectric injectors, which require different drive electronics and timing strategies. If your engine uses piezoelectric injectors, contact XTRA Motorsport before ordering.

Can the MS25 SPORT control a diesel V8 with two fuel rails?

Yes. The optional dual-bank configuration activates two independent FMU (Fuel Metering Unit) and PCV (Pressure Control Valve) control channels, enabling independent rail pressure management for V8 or dual-rail diesel installations. This is ordered as an option at time of purchase.

What software is used to calibrate the MS25 SPORT?

Calibration uses Modas Sport connected via the MSA-Box II USB interface. Custom control functions can be developed using the MATLAB/Simulink-based development framework. The MS25 SPORT does not use RaceCon — it uses the older Modas Sport calibration environment.

What is the IP rating of the MS25 SPORT?

The MS25 SPORT is rated to IPx6K (high-pressure water jets) and IPx9K (high-pressure steam cleaning).
