The Bosch Motorsport DDU 9 is a full-colour programmable race dash display with an integrated data logger, combining a 5.7″ 640×480 pixel TFT screen with 10 freely configurable RGB LEDs, 12 customisable display pages, and 4 GB of internal logging. It records up to 100 channels at 20 Hz in standard configuration and upgrades to 1,500 channels at 1,000 Hz with the FULL_LOG_1 software key — all on a 667 MHz dual-core processor with CAN, Ethernet, and RS232 connectivity.

The Bosch Motorsport DDU 9 combines a programmable full-colour dashboard display with an integrated motorsport data logger in a compact IP54-rated unit. It targets GT4, touring car, single-make championships, club racing, and any application where both driver information display and data logging are required in a single device — without separate logger hardware and wiring.

The 5.7″ trans-reflective display is visible in direct sunlight. Its 640 × 480 pixel resolution supports detailed gauge layouts, bar graphs, and numerical readouts. Twelve user-configurable display pages — each storing its own layout, data channel assignments, and warning thresholds — switch automatically on events: gear change, speed threshold, RPM limit, or any CAN variable. Custom graphics, logos, and background images in BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG, and TIF formats can be uploaded to the device.

Ten multicolor (RGB) LEDs across the display are each independently configurable: shift lights, warning indicators, pit-in signals, and pit limiter status can all be assigned to individual LEDs with custom colour, blink rate, and activation threshold. Standard ADC input resolution is 12-bit at 10 kHz with a digital low-pass filter — the same acquisition quality as the standalone C70 logger.

Internal logging at standard configuration records 100 channels at 20 Hz from 4 GB storage. The FULL_LOG_1 upgrade activates full performance: 1,500 channels at 1,000 Hz. A second 4 GB logging partition and USB data copy are available as additional software key upgrades.

Data analysis uses WinDarab V7 — the same platform used across the Bosch Motorsport ECU and logger range.

FAQ

What is the difference between the DDU 9, DDU 10, and DDU 11?

The DDU 9 has a 5.7″ 640×480 display and IP54 sealing — the most cost-effective unit in the range. The DDU 11 upgrades to 6.5″ 800×480, IP67, 48 configurable pages, and an optional GPS sensor. The DDU 10 provides the largest 7″ 800×480 screen with IP67 and Autosport connectors — fitted as OEM in BMW M4 GT3, McLaren 720S GT3, and Aston Martin Vantage GT3 among others. The DDU 9 suits GT4 and club racing installations; the DDU 10 and 11 suit higher-tier professional applications.

Does the DDU 9 include a data logger?

Yes. The DDU 9 integrates a full data logger — 4 GB at standard rates (100 channels, 20 Hz). The FULL_LOG_1 software upgrade activates 1,500 channels at 1,000 Hz. No separate logging hardware is required for most circuit racing applications.

How are the DDU 9 display pages configured?

Display pages are configured in RaceCon — the same Bosch Motorsport software used for ECU calibration. The MSA-Box II is the USB interface for configuration. Custom graphics are uploaded to the device via Ethernet.

What connectors does the DDU 9 use?

The DDU 9 uses Bosch proprietary connectors — not Autosport motorsport connectors. Mating harness connectors are available; contact XTRA Motorsport for connector kit availability. The DDU 10 uses Autosport (AS216/AS616) connectors and the DDU 11 uses a TE Connectivity connector.

Can the DDU 9 receive data from a non-Bosch ECU?

Yes. The DDU 9 receives CAN data from any ECU broadcasting on its CAN bus. Standard CAN database files (DBC) define the channel mapping. Configure the DDU 9 in RaceCon to read from the ECU’s broadcast channels.
