The Bosch Motorsport NTC M12 temperature sensor uses a Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) thermistor element in a compact M12×1.5 threaded housing with a Jetronic 2-pin connector — one of the most widely used temperature sensor form factors in motorsport wiring. Its −40 to +130 °C range covers standard coolant and oil temperature measurement on gasoline and diesel engines.
The NTC output requires a pull-up resistor between the signal pin and the ECU 5 V supply (typically 1 kΩ or 3 kΩ — ECU-dependent). The voltage at the signal pin varies inversely with temperature: as temperature rises, sensor resistance falls and signal voltage drops. Most ECUs include a calibration table for the Bosch NTC M12 thermistor curve (reference resistance 2252 Ω at 25 °C).
For higher-temperature circuits (up to 150 °C), use the NTC M12-H (SKU 0281002170).
