The CivicLink Gen 5 (HC92X) is Link Engine Management’s G4X plug-in ECU for the Honda Civic EG (1992–1995) and all vehicles using the Honda OBD1 ECU with B16 or B18 engines. The PCB fits inside the factory ECU enclosure with no loom modifications.

No onboard MAP sensor is fitted — an external MAP sensor is required. Note: knock control is not available on the HC92X. VTEC cam lift control is natively supported. The loom uses factory OBD1 connector pinout; no external adapters are needed for basic installation.

Is knock control available on the CivicLink HC92X?

No. Knock control hardware is not present on the HC92X. For knock control capability on a Honda B-series platform, a different ECU solution is required.

Is a MAP sensor included?

No. An external MAP sensor is required and must be wired to the ECU via the XS Expansion Loom.

What is the difference between CivicLink Gen 5 and Gen 6?

The Gen 5 HC92X fits OBD1 ECU models (1992–1995). The CivicLink Gen 6 HC96X fits OBD2A models (1996–1998) and adds knock control capability.
