The Bosch Motorsport PST-4 covers 0.4–4 bar absolute pressure — the widest boost range in the PST family for air and oil applications. At 4 bar absolute (approximately 3 bar gauge boost), it covers high-output racing engines including GT3, prototype, and modified road car applications where boost pressures exceed 2 bar gauge. Oil pressure measurement at dry sump feed line or pressure circuit levels also falls within its range.
The piezo-resistive sensing element with integrated amplifier delivers both pressure (ratiometric 0.5 V – 4.5 V on 5 V supply) and temperature (simultaneously) in a single 22 g housing, reducing sensor and harness weight compared to separate sensors. Temperature range of −40 to +130 °C is suited to oil and high-temperature air circuits — slightly narrower than the PST-1/3 due to the higher-pressure medium exposure.
For turbo applications at or below 2 bar gauge boost, the PST-3 (0.2–3 bar) is sufficient. For GDI fuel rail (up to 280 bar), use the PST-F-2.
