The G4X AtomX is Link Engine Management’s entry-level wire-in standalone ECU, built on the same G4X platform and microcontroller as every model in the range. It is the right choice for naturally aspirated or simple forced-induction four-cylinder builds where the priority is precise fuelling and ignition without paying for motorsport features the application will never use. The AtomX supports sequential injection and direct spark on up to four cylinders, onboard knock detection, open-loop boost control, and flex-fuel capability via analogue input. For rotary builds, it handles two-rotor sequential mapping. The G4X processor upgrade from the G4+ platform delivers 8× faster USB communication speed and single-precision floating-point fuel tables — improving resolution at all load points without requiring new tuning software.

What You Can Do With It
- Map fuel and ignition on any 4-cylinder engine with full sequential injection and direct spark
- Run 2-rotor Wankel engines (13B, 20B) with sequential injection
- Batch-fire eight cylinders when sequential injection is not required — V8 conversions, classic EFI builds
- Control open-loop boost via one auxiliary output, mapped against RPM and throttle position
- Log up to 250 channels at 1 kHz each across 512 MB internal storage, downloaded 8× faster than the G4+ platform
- Monitor and control knock via the onboard knock input with per-cylinder retard strategies in PCLink
- Support flex-fuel / ethanol content sensor via an analogue voltage input
- Connect AIM dashloggers, the LinkECU CAN Lambda Controller, and other CAN devices on the single CAN bus port
- Control idle speed via a solenoid-type idle control valve

All G4X models share the same microcontroller and PCLink software. Feature differences are I/O count and firmware capability — not separate software licence tiers.
In the Box
- LinkECU G4X AtomX ECU
- USB tuning cable
- Mounting bracket
- PCLink software — free download from linkecu.com
Required accessories not included:
- LinkECU Connector A Kit — 34-pin Tyco/AMP connector kit (TKA) to terminate or build the wiring loom
- Link ECU Loom A — 2.5 m — pre-terminated flying-lead harness
Recommended accessories:

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the G4X AtomX support VVT (variable valve timing) control?
No. VVT control is not available on the AtomX. If your engine has variable cam timing, lock the cam mechanically at a fixed advance position, or step up to the MonsoonX, which adds intake and exhaust cam control with two extra auxiliary outputs.
Can the AtomX control a turbocharged engine?
Yes, with open-loop boost control. The AtomX drives a boost solenoid on a fixed duty-cycle map. Closed-loop boost control — where the ECU actively adjusts solenoid duty against a target boost level using MAP sensor feedback — requires the MonsoonX or higher. For most fixed-boost club motorsport and hillclimb builds, open-loop is sufficient.
Does it support launch control or anti-lag?
No. Launch control and anti-lag are MonsoonX features and are not available on the AtomX.
Do I need an external wideband lambda controller?
Yes. The AtomX has no onboard wideband lambda. The recommended solution is the LinkECU CAN Lambda Controller, which connects via the CAN port and provides a Bosch LSU 4.9 wideband reading to the ECU. An analogue wideband (0–5 V output) can also connect to one of the three analogue inputs.
What injectors are compatible?
High-impedance (saturated, ≥8 Ω) injectors only. Peak-and-hold (low-impedance) injector driving is not supported. For most naturally aspirated and single-turbo builds this is not a limitation — Bosch EV14, Siemens/VDO, Injector Dynamics, and RC Engineering injectors are all saturated type.
What is the upgrade path when the AtomX runs out of I/O?
The MonsoonX is the direct upgrade: same 34-pin Connector A, so the wiring loom transfers without modification. It adds two more auxiliary outputs, two more digital inputs, VVT, closed-loop boost, launch control, and anti-lag. For 8-cylinder sequential builds, the StormX doubles the injection and ignition channels but requires a new loom.
Is PCLink software free?
Yes. PCLink is a free download from linkecu.com with free updates. It is the same software used for all G4X models — the firmware on each ECU determines which feature tabs are active. No annual licence fee.
