The Bosch Motorsport MS 6.1 EVO is designed for gasoline engines up to 12 cylinders running port fuel injection. It targets GT4-class racing, single-make championships, and professional club racing installations where GDI is not required and the priority is a proven, configurable ECU within the Bosch Motorsport software ecosystem. All MS 6 EVO variants — including the MS 6.1 — use the same RaceCon calibration environment and WinDarab V7 data analysis platform as the higher-tier MS 7.4 and MS 7.8, so calibrators already working in the Bosch toolchain can move between ECU tiers without learning a new interface.

The MS 6.1 EVO provides 21 analog inputs, 12 sequential injector outputs, and 12 ignition outputs. Two Bosch LSU 4.9 wideband lambda sensors connect directly to the ECU without an external controller. Internal logging is 4 GB standard, recording 100 channels at 20 Hz; the FULL_LOG_1 software upgrade expands this to 1,500 channels at 1,000 Hz. Custom vehicle control algorithms can be developed and deployed using MATLAB/Simulink via the Customer Code Area option.

What is the difference between the MS 6.1 EVO and the other MS 6 EVO variants?

The MS 6.1 EVO supports low-pressure (port fuel injection) only and has 21 analog inputs — the lowest-cost entry into the MS 6 EVO platform. The MS 6.2 EVO adds 38 analog inputs and LTE telemetry support (same LP-only injection). The MS 6.3 EVO adds high-pressure injection (GDI) capability at the same 21-input count. The MS 6.4 EVO combines 38 inputs with full GDI support. The MS 6.4P EVO further upgrades to an 866 MHz CPU and 16 GB optional memory, with a dedicated incompatible software version.

Does the MS 6.1 EVO support direct injection (GDI)?

No. The MS 6.1 EVO is designed for port fuel injection only. For direct injection or combined LP/HP injection engines, use the MS 6.3 EVO (21 analog inputs) or MS 6.4 EVO (38 analog inputs).

What interface is needed to calibrate the MS 6.1 EVO?

Calibration is done in RaceCon. The MSA-Box II is the standard USB-to-ECU interface and is kept in stock. Direct Ethernet connection is also supported. Post-session data analysis uses WinDarab V7.

Does the MS 6.1 EVO include an internal data logger?

Yes. 4 GB of internal logging is standard at 100 channels / 20 Hz (50 ms). The FULL_LOG_1 software upgrade activates full performance: 1,500 channels at 1,000 Hz. A second 4 GB logging partition is available as a further software upgrade.

Can I develop custom control algorithms for the MS 6.1 EVO?

Yes. The Customer Code Area (CCA) enables MATLAB/Simulink-based custom algorithm development with automatic code and documentation generation. The CCA Hardware Upgrade must be activated for the specific device unit before deployment.
