The G5 Voodoo Neo 4 is the entry-level model in Link Engine Management’s G5 wire-in range, designed for four-cylinder builds — naturally aspirated or turbocharged, port injection or direct injection. It runs on the G5 platform with the same PCLink software used for the G4X range: G4X calibration files load directly into the Neo 4, and no new software is required. Compared to any G4X wire-in ECU, the Neo 4 adds built-in WiFi for wireless PCLink connection, onboard GPS for data logging without an external module, Ethernet for fast log downloads, and an integrated Bosch LSU 4.9 wideband lambda controller. Data logging capacity is 1 GB — double the G5 Voodoo Pro’s 512 MB.

For direct injection builds, the optional LinkECU DI Driver-4 unlocks staged sequential GDI on 4-cylinder engines. The Neo 4 + DI Driver-4 is available as a bundle (SKU 154-9000B).

Pin Architecture — Aux/DI Sharing

The Neo 4 has two categories of multipurpose pins that work differently:

Aux/DI shared pins (×4): Each pin can be used as an Auxiliary output or a Digital Input — but not both simultaneously. These pins can read PWM/frequency signals. Plan the Aux vs DI assignment in PCLink before building the loom.

ADIO pins (×6): Each pin can be configured as an Auxiliary output, an Analogue voltage input, or a Digital input. These pins cannot read PWM/frequency. Pull-up options: 1 kΩ, 10 kΩ, or no pull-up.

Note: Aux outputs 7–12 pull up to 8 V (not battery voltage). Tachometers or devices requiring 12 V pull-up cannot be driven from these pins.

Does the G5 Voodoo Neo 4 include an onboard wideband lambda?

Yes. The Neo 4 integrates a single Bosch LSU 4.9 wideband lambda controller. Connect the LSU 4.9 sensor directly to the ECU — no separate module required. If a second wideband channel is needed, the LinkECU CAN Lambda Controller connects via CAN.

Can I load my G4X calibration file into the G5 Voodoo Neo 4?

Yes. The G5 platform uses the same PCLink software as G4X. G4X calibration and log files open directly in the G5 Neo without rebuilding from scratch. Pin arrangements between G5 Neo and G4X are similar, minimising repinning work when upgrading an existing harness.

Does the Neo 4 support direct injection (GDI) engines?

The Neo 4 controls staged sequential GDI on 4-cylinder engines when paired with the LinkECU DI Driver-4. The ECU generates the control signals; the DI Driver-4 provides the high-voltage drive current for direct injection injectors. Available as a bundle (SKU 154-9000B). Without the DI Driver, the Neo 4 operates as a conventional port injection ECU.

What is the maximum cylinder count on the Neo 4?

Up to 6 cylinders with sequential port injection and direct spark. For staged sequential direct injection, the maximum is 4 cylinders (with DI Driver-4). For 7- or 8-cylinder sequential port injection, or 6-cylinder GDI, the Neo 6 is the correct choice.

What does the Neo 4 have that the G4X XtremeX or FuryX does not?

Built-in WiFi (real-time PCLink over the air), onboard GPS, Ethernet for fast log downloads, 1 GB data logging (vs 512 MB on G4X), native G5 platform architecture, and USB-C. The G5 Neo also supports direct injection via the DI Driver — no G4X wire-in ECU supports GDI natively.
